Terra has always had a love and passion for the art of dance since she was very young. She graduated from Georgia College and State University with a MPA Degree, but always knew dancing was her calling. In 2000, she decided to take a class at Hayiya Dance Theatre in which she was asked to join the African Dance Troup. During this time she developed a love for African Dance and performed in the Opening Act for the late Mr. James Brown. After two years, she decided to further pursue the art by co-founding Sashei African Inspired Music and Dance Assemble. While providing leadership for the group, Terra instructed many children and adults in the art of African Dance. She worked as a dance instructor for the Tubman African American Museum, Mercer University Upward Bound Program, Macon Housing Authority and other organizations. Terra also received professional dance training from Yousouff Kombassa of Guinea, West Africa, Dijan Tie of the Ivory Coast, FungAfrica Congolese Professional Assemble, Sabrina McKenzie and Dance Nia Studio of Atlanta, Ga.
Terra has traveled to International locations such as Bridgetown, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Nassau,Bahamas, and Montego Bay ,Jamica to provide professional dance training to the youth and adults. She has also choreographed dances for Stage Plays such as “Big Mammas Prayer, and “Has Anybody Seen Love”. Terra is the Owner of Kali Dance Studio , and the Coordinator for the Beulahland Bible Church Dance Ministry. She is also the Fine Arts Dance Teacher for Miller Fine Arts Magnet School. Terra has a desire to build a comprehensive dance program that will not only address the importance of dance, but build a strong sense of self among young adults.
In 2003, Terra opened the Kali Dance Studio for the Arts located at 493 Second Street, Macon Georgia. The school provides professional dance training in the areas of Ballet, Creative Movement, African, Jazz, Modern, Hip-hop, Liturgical/Praise and Tap to ages 3- adults. In addition to classes, private lesson, dance workshops are also offered.
Lissa Wade-Blash is married with three kids in which two of her girls attend Kali Dance Studio for the Arts. Not only is Lissa a parent, she is Terra's assistant and keeps things running at Kali. Lisa is very professional and loves everything that Kali has to offer. Her girls love being at the studio where they take Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Liturgical Praise. She is the "Woman" to know" and enjoys being behind the scenes and in front when needed.
India Ruemmele is a junior at Central High School in the International Baccalaureate Program. She has been dancing for five years and is trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and contemporary. This will be her fifth year in the Nutcracker of Middle Georgia and her third year in the Middle Georgia Youth Ballet. She has attended summer programs at Nashville Ballet and Orlando Ballet, as well as workshops at Dance Works and Dance Arts studios.
Salhaa Fitz My name is Salhaa Fitz and I have been dancing for quite a long time. I've been doing African Dance for about 9 years. I started practicing Hip-Hop dance for about 5 years. I am a member of a Hip-Hop dance group stationed in Macon, Ga. we call ourselves (O.M.B) and we all do different styles of Hip-Hop. I love dancing, and in my opinion being on stage is the best thing in world. Hip-Hop isn't something you do, It's something you live, and I love it and live it. I am a Dance Star
Alayna Williams is a sophomore at Central High School in the International Baccalaureate Program. She began taking dance at age 4, and will soon enter her 12th year of dance. She has been nominated to be a Youth Dance Ambassador twice, and participated in the summer program last year. Alayna has also been in some Macon performances including "The Holiday Spectacular." Alayna is trained in the areas of ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical.
Brianna Jackson is a gifted and talented young lady who attends Miller Middle School. She took her first dance class at Vineville Academy in which she knew she had a love for the art. At 11 years old, she began her first professional dance class at Kali Dance Studio for the Arts. Brianna has been dancing for 5 years and has competed in dance competitions in which she won 1st place in overall and group divisions. Brianna is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Step, African, Contemporary, and Praise. Brianna is an aspiring teacher who is determined to enlarge her gift and further pursue Professional Dance Training once completing High School. She is a member of Greater Turner Tabernacle Church and the dance ministry.
Martinique Pearson is a talented young lady who has a gift to dance and shares it with everyone she knows. Her dance training began at age 6 and continued upon entering Miller Middle School. At that that time she developed her craft in several genres of dance such as Ballet, Jazz, African, Modern, Liturgical/ Praise with Ms. Gallemore. She later on joined Kali Dance Studio for the Arts and it has become apart of her everyday life. She has been a student of Kali for three years and in that time has progressed to the level of training in Pointe and a Student Teacher. Martinique's gift has propelled to the front and has allowed her to win her first dance competition by placing 1st in her division. She has received several dance awards and dreams of going to the Alvin Ailey Dance Company to take her gift even higher. She has danced at numerous venues such as weddings, festivals, and other celebrations. She enjoys every minute of it and hopes to inspire others to do the same.
Jordan Russell started dancing at a very young age at Rythmn Nation Studio in Warner Robins Georgia. She continued her love for dance at Kali Dance Studio for the Arts and Miller Magnet School. Jordan enjoys choreographing and performing and when she is not dancing she is designing. Being a student at Kali for many years, she is proud and honored to be a student teacher. She is eager to teach and express her love for the arts through dance. Jordan is tranined in Ballet, Creative Movement, African, Jazz, Liturgical Praise, and Hip-Hop.
Monica Robinson has always possessed a love for dance but later discovered her true passion for dance her 7th grade year. She was inspired by her 7th grade jazz piece choreographed by Ms.Terra Gallemore and later began to take classes at Kali Dance Studio. She has been dancing under Ms.Gallemore for 2 years and plans to continue. Monica attends Central High School and is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program and Fine Arts where she also receives dance training from Ms.Margie Wright.She is also astudent teacher at the studio and a youth choreographer for her church's dance ministry. She is trained in jazz,ballet, contemporary, and liturgical Praise.
